I finally have a clear idea about the kind of armors the Ajshar, one of the feline species in mt fantasy setting, typically use. They usually are made by small plates joined together by chainmail, and they offer a decent amount of protection and mobility. This one in particular is inspired by Turkish and Russian mirror armors.
It took me a loooong while to make this drawing, mainly because I drew and colored the body under the armor as well, on a different layer. This way I can use the same base in case I wanted to draw another concept in the future. :D
Anyways, hope you like it! ^^ I'm still trying to understand how digital art works, but I think I'm making progress!

Proud kitty is proud! Lovely work, by the way. It is so much fun creating armor designs. One of the advantages of digital media is layers, so you can do exactly what you just mentioned. It's pretty much what I do when I draw my characters with outfits. It also makes the outfit look a lot more natural, since you are following the contour of their body.
Very nice design. Very realistic! He's really handsome too
