In the original script, Vicki didn't make a noise.
But, when I was doing the lettering of the strip, I thought a noise would be funnier. At first, I was going to use "eek". Then Jan's popular use of "meep" came to mind. Perfect. I "borrowed" it. Yeah, that's my story.

Hmm, with all the canines in Vicki's cast, I don't have any Arctic canines. Me thinks I'll need to have some cameo appearances of white foxes in future stories.

Ooh. That sounds good. Arctic foxes or Arctic wolves would be wonderful.

There isn't a canon time period. You can say it is a mashup of 90's, 00's, and 10's, with influences from classic sitcoms of the 60's and 70's.
