Fuck it, I can’t say no to you guys, they’re an open species now, make one if you want to! XD
I do however ask you give credit for the species and show me if you make one I’d love to see!
Corwulf are a canine like species that are the result of arcane mutations of wolves over several generations. They are intelligent beings capable of learning magic and more often live in packs of their own kind
General Info
-Carnivores; having a preference for fresh meat they are adept hunters, though when need be they have been known to scavenge from time to time.
-The brighter their mouth glow the healthier they tend to be, sickly/elderly Corwulf tend to have a dimmed glow.
-Their natural habitats are primarily dense forests, the thick covering offering them protection from larger predators, and plenty of spots for packs to hide and ambush larger prey
-Capable of moving on both four legs and two, Corwulf are quick creatures, able to move with relative science.
Anatomy and Biology
-Corwulf’s most distinguishing trait are their glowing mouths, this is caused by 3-5 pouches filled with bio-luminescent liquid along their long, dexterous tongue.
-Corwulf are short in stature, females reaching around 3ft in size while males have been noted to average out around 4ft, though giant Corwulf of both sexes are possible.
-Having dual sets of ears that can move independently of one another they use them to narrow down exactly where a specific sound is coming from, as well as how far away it is.
-Unless removes, Corwulf can have up to 8 horns on their head, ranging in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
-The thick fur covering their body provides protection both from the elements and injury, their manes appearing in both male and female are thick and runs down their back to their tails, which are equally as thick and fluffy
-The Bio-luminescent glow of their mouths matches the color of their eyes, paw pads, and horns. In instances of heterochromia, the color of the horns, pads, and pouches will be evenly split, or a swirling mix of both colors.
-The sclera of their eyes is a dark color, while the pupil is a lighter shade of their iris, having a slight glow
-One unexpected mutation that has occurred in Corwulf is that instead of live birth, they lay eggs. A clutch of Corwulf eggs can average anywhere from 1-4 offspring
-Corwulf can come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, there seems to be no limit in this aspect.
Social Behaviors
-Corwulf are social creatures, often living in large packs they are very protective of, and will become very territorial of outsiders, whether they’re the same species or no
-That being said it’s not impossible for outsiders to become considered a member of a Corwulf’s pack, even if they’re a different species.
-Though uncommon it’s not unheard of for a Corwulf to prefer to live on it’s own, this often results in the Corwulf growing to a larger size, up to 8ft, a necessity to survive on their own
-This growth of size can also be seen in more dominant members of Corwulf packs
-Corwulf communicate via barks, whines, and howls, though they are capable of learning to understand other languages and copying sounds they hear, they’re only able to mimic, if they wish to communicate with other species it must be with words they’ve already heard before as they are incapable of piecing together sounds to make words they’ve never picked up.
-They sometimes use this mimicry to lure in prey, ambushing those careless enough to be fooled
-If a Corwulf’s bio-luminescent pouches become punctured or break the liquid they secrete is highly toxic to other species, and if all pouches are broken they lose their mouth glow, and soon after their horns, eyes, and paw pads begin to fade and darken in color as well, becoming nearly completely black. This is seen as bad luck to most if not all packs as a sign of bad luck, often resulting on the glowless Corwulf being shunned and ousted from their pack, lest they risk being attacked and chased off by force or killed.
Requirements for a Corwulf
-Glowing mouth- Unless your Corwulf’s tongue pouches have been damaged, in which case their horns, eyes, and paw pads should be dimmed and darkened, or in the process of dimming
-Horns- 2-8 horns, always an even number
-Fluffy- Unless specifically stating they’ve had their fur trimmed they should be fluffy with a long, thick tail
-Eyes- Their Sclera should be a dark color, their iris should match their horns, pads, and mouth glow, and their iris should be a lighter color, in instances of blindness the eye becomes a completely solid color, matching the iris.
