Second: I think you might be a victim of April Fool's! Heh.
(National) Bird Day used to (still is?) actually be January 5th. It was then moved (or gave way) to Bird Day on May 4th, and International Bird Day is April 13th.
Maybe April 1 is a Russian 'Bird Day'?
