The Isles of Catriona
You know, I get more personal work done at work than at home, I think...don't tell anyone I was working on this, though *presses fingers to lips* ^^;
Anyway! Here is a tentative topical map of the Isles of Catriona...or just Catriona. As you can see, Calico is indeed the largest, dwarfing the other islands, easily. The waters around the islands are fairly shallow, for the most part, but get deeper the further out you go. This makes for good fishing since many of the fish breed in shallow waters. ...of course, sharks are amongst the fish that breed in shallow water, so it makes their waters a bit precarious, too.
At any rate, this is the map for now. I'll do a map of Calico sometime later...but not right now since I really must get back to actual "work" work See ya!

Well, I haven't made a map of Calico, yet. It'll be more detailed than this. This is just a layout of the islands so folks where know where everything is in relation to each other. Calico will get its own map and then Calico City will get its own map, too.
Calico City has a hotel (no hostels, though) a few restaurants, places to shop, etc. We have hostels here in America, but hotels are more prevalent. I'm more familiar with them and one can meet as many people there as in a hostel since there are many public places. But, hostels wouldn't be as necessary since residents of Calico traveling would stay at the hotel or impose on the kindness of one of the locals. But, that will have to come later when I can find the time to do it after I get these commissions done

What you talkin about? That could be a new designer pillow or something XD Well if I had a sweet tablet at work too it would be really tempting to start drawing with it. Awww you didn't have to name all those lil islands after me Kitt Turned out really good I like how the shallow waters are a lighter blue.
Yay for getting personal projects done at work! I wrote most of my book while at work, but then I needed something to do to pass 12-hour days in the winter when nobody was showing up. I'm at work right now while looking at FA! *evil maniacal laughter* Need more coffee...
It looks like you're having a lot of fun developing all aspects of your story, Kitty. I was wondering, do you see these islands as volcanic like the Hawaiian islands, or are they just big piles of dirt that are taller than the ocean? And if volcanic and therefore mountainous, are the mountains tall enough to have snow caps?

^_^ Thanks, I'm really enjoying this project.
As for the islands, the ones toward the south could be volcanic, but the ones north would have mountains, less likely volcanoes. I'll have to figure it out. But, Calico does have mountains, some, yes, high enough to be snow capped ^_^.
