:D See those black rootish things making crazy weaving patterns all over the side of this old oak stump? Welp, those are the above-ground spreading structures of the Honey Mushroom, a common edible mushroom that sometimes turns pathogenic to weakened trees... yet another reason to support a diverse natural environment, to keep these versatile fungi in check and make it possible for all the fungis and plants to have their chance. ^^;
Needless to say, come summertime I will be religiously be checking this stump for fruitings. ^w^ Because I enjoy mushrooms! A tip for growing mushroom-foragers... they're always there, they're just not always ready. XD
