Ha ha, I am almost one of the specialists of the TOTALLY unknown anime from the eighties-nineties, mon ^^ ^^
Twilight Q had much infamous Akemi Takada as character designer, didn't see this one though. But Twilight Q2 was... well, just knowing it was an Oshii work should be enough to understand the kind of UFO it could be !!

Not here, but Manabe indeed influenced me greatly by his organic designs, this for example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2027656/ is totally inspired by his designs.
