Another new character (but an old drawing) of Kokusz the coconut crab...thing? So far people have called him a crab centaur.
Anyways, these were my first sketches of him. I wanted to figure out his coloring so I went nuts on it.
His design has been updated already and he's a lot "cooler" looking now. I have a drawing of him in the works, just need a tablet. :P
As for info about him; Kokusz is has poor eyesight and senses things mostly by sound and feeling vibrations in the ground. He likes reflective and strange objects and collects them. He especially loves surf polished driftwood and glass (as rare as they are, the glass I mean.)
He loves to eat coconuts, (of course) other fruits and is an opportunity feeder. He will acquire protein one way or another, whether it is by scavenging or stalking prey.
He is more curious and skittish than aggressive, but the best way to deal with him (if you are pursued by him because he's starved for protein) is to rush at him suddenly and make loud noises. 95% of the time he will recoil back. When he does that it's time to escape. This is likely to only work once, so it's best not waste the opportunity.
He is strong and his armor is tough. Directly attacking him isn't wise. Again, best to run, and if possible head for deep water; he can't breath it or swim and will drown.
When he is well nourished and content he's happy to tolerate another's presence, as long as they don't pester him and/or get too close. Offering him shiny/interesting things might appease him though.
Taking his food is also most unwise...

"Oh mighty Kokusz, God of the Shell, I bring you offerings of vanity mirror's and precious, shiny jewels." ^^
I've oftened hoped an artist would create an anthro crabby, cuz I like shellfish. And today I was lucky enough to find one! Thank you!
As for the illustration itself, I'm bulldozed by the color scheme and the intricate detailing. You obviously put a tremendous deal of effort into creating this. He looks like a pleasant fellow, long as I'm not on the menu >.>
