Beldum is a relatively simple insectoid Pokemon that floats using the help of an air bladder and filters its food out of the air. They exist only to join together to form bigger Pokemon.
A Beldum's head is mostly muscle and neural tissue attached to its eye. Its eye and head is allowed to point in any direction, and its eye is relatively strong. Its neck is mostly exposed muscle, nerves, and arteries, so its predators usually go for the neck, because its incredibly thick exoskeleton is almost impenetrable. The crest above its head is a shock absorber to protect it if it ever runs into something.
Most of Beldum's body is exoskeleton, with a hollow space where its body organs are held. Its heart pumps blood through two main arteries, one leading below and one leading to the head. Smaller arteries branch outwards to feed the organs beside it. At the top of the space is the neural ganglia, which is basically a primitive brain connected directly to its eyeball.
The bottom of a Beldum is its food, with claws that allow it to attach to things. The opening in the foot goes into its gut, which filters detritus out of the air to give it energy. The air is siphoned into the air bladder, which, when full, allows Beldum to levitate about a foot above the ground. By expelling the contents of the bladder, Beldum propells itself in the direction its pointing at.
Beldum are curious in nature, inspecting anything (including its predators) closely. When it finds another Beldum, they join together, shell and tissue fusing to become one bigger Pokemon. This is a Beldum's goal in life.
