The American Ration is Shrimp Alfredo that is shelf stable for up to a century the casing can survive a drop from orbit ( though not the heat of re-entry. It is also self-heating. The texture has been described as " Crumbly. "
The Russian Ration is Potato goulash with Beef tips. Shelf stable for ten years. Requires an Esbit stove to reheat. Fat tends to coagulate if not heated. ( Alex forgot her stove back at camp so Jerome will have to eat it cold. ) Very nutrient dense. Very delicious. There is a threat among the exploration fleet that any Non-Pan-Russo Alliance personnel found taking them from the dedicated storerooms to replace their own rations will be courtmartialed. presently nobody has been reported though. Presumably because the MPs are also doing it.
