The neck monster stems from a joke because of an actual scar I have on my neck.

We use to joke about my neck popping open when they took the staples out. That stemmed to it opening up and eating people. Someone drew me an icon of Mazz with a smile dubbed "happy neck" and from there the neck monster was born.
