Please fav to spread this around. This little kitten needs a home She is in the central California area.
Yesterday night when I went to feed the cats this little one was left vulnerably out where she could be hit by a car. She is about 3 weeks old, still missing most of her teeth and needs kitten formula. I haven’t started her on solid foods yet and she needs to be on formula at least until 12 weeks of age at the point she will be weaned. I believe she is Boton's kitten. Boton is the cat here with the stubby tail who looks like she's a deer caught in the headlights - http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g...../A12200910.png
And I believe Senna (orange long hair) is the father - http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g.....st9th20097.png
The kitten (nameless at this time) has Senna's face, orange markings like Senna and some tabby markings like Boton but she has a full tail unlike Boton. Boton has a reputation of abandoning kittens to people who give her food according the the neighbor lady next door and feral cats are also known at times to do this to a human who brings food. I waited a long time for Boton or one of the other females to claim her but none of them did. They were too focused on eating and then left to groom themselves. It was getting dark and there are dogs out on the streets because people are lazy and don't keep them on leashes, so I decided to take her. I was very careful not to touch her before that time. None of the females came back to get her. I suppose cats have their reasons why they abandon their young like this to people who bring food, but Buton is on the list to be one of the first females to be spayed if I can get her. Bad momma! Or good momma, depending on how you look at it.
I'm taking the kitten into the vet today with Moogle at 5:00 pm she needs ear drops and I'll see what other medications she will need. She is too young to be vaccinated or spayed. She is friendly and attentive, active. She needs a home too =(. Because the FIV virus is usually only spread through deep bites when males fight, it is very rare that the virus can be spread through other means, so most likely she is not a carrier being as that she is only a few weeks old. I will double check with the vet on this but I'm sure she can be adopted into a home with normal cats. Please send me a private note if you are interested.
I may have to take her to a shelter otherwise, which I am not worried about them euthenizing her. She is too young and most likely will go into foster care but I would like to see to it personally that she find a home if I can. If I cant find her a home I may foster her but I give birth in a few months and kitten needs someone who can play with her and keep her active and I'm not really cut out for that right now being pregnant and taking care of the other homeless cats ^^;
PS ~ That's my chubby red Tabby boy Gary in the background there :heart:. He's extremely jealous of the kitten and never strays too far from me when I feed her. Poor Gary lol.
