That is a slightly above average pinecone. Presuming the characters are not local to certain species of pine that exist in the northwest. What would people do without the news to give them the strait scoop on all valid viewpoints, like the outer space theory. Sure it's not likely, but can you disprove that a pinecone in a forest came from outerspace?
