Basically every artist I know (including myself) bemoans that they need to practice drawing backgrounds, but then never DOES it… so I’m setting aside a week to do just that! Background Blitz Week will run from March 25th to March 31st, 2018 and has the following goals:

1. draw to completion at least one environment a day
2. learn how to ration time and figure out what you can realistically accomplish in a single day’s drawing
3. learn what you like and dislike about environment drawing-- savor the good bits, and learn how to speed up the parts you hate so you spend less time doing them

If you’re into daily themes, here’s a good starter list:

1. wilderness
2. garden
3. urban
4. room
5. market
6. roadways
7. restaurant
