Some of Kenner’s first Star Wars products in the seventies were paper goods that could be manufactured quickly in the United States. The plastic action figures and vehicles wouldn’t reach stores for Christmas in 1977, but thanks to the demand for Star Wars toys for Christmas the company managed to sell a lot of art projects and puzzles. For Christmas in 1977 there were no Star Wars toys, but still — as we see here the stores were selling poster sets, Dip Dots, puzzles, and other items that had been available in Christmas of 77. Dip Dots Painting Design Book was one of them.

From 1977 The Kenner Star Wars Catalog:

"DIP DOTS provide the colors and STAR WARS the action. New set features sixteen 8½"x 11" scenes based on STAR WARS movie with all the STAR WARS stars in action. Complete, ready-to-paint, with 8 colors of DIP DOTS instant water colors in non-spill plastic tray; STAR WARS scenes in bound book and brush. Age 3 to 8."

So far I only had two first pages colored the rest was in storage after I got the toys for my birthday in 78 I still have all the paint and brush
