As to why this aircraft flew all the way to Las Vegas, I'm guessing it's because a major corporation has been showing interest in the plane and could be looking to replace the majority of its fleet with the new aircraft.

The G500, and larger G600, will feature a new avionics suite with fly-by-wire controls, unique cabin interior options, and brand new Pratt & Whitney engines specifically designed for this aircraft. It will replace the older G450 (or GIV-SP).

Service entry is planned for later in 2018.
