Fighting on the brutal tundras against space wolf forces Fir'rah is a fearless commander having bested the frozen warriors on their own turf time and time again. Fir'rah earned her rank as commander (or Shas'O) as a bodyguard for the another commander in her unit. Fending off a pack of Fenrisian wolves, her suit was spotted with bloody paw marks and claw lines after cutting down the advancing beasts with her plasma rifle and battle suit fists. From then on she gained the rank of Shas'O and given control of her own battalion to spread the greater good to the stars. Her sept's signature mark became a paw print as a tribute to the poor beasts she had to slay in the name of the greater good.

Fir is a jaded and battle worn commander, despite numerous advances in XV8 technology and better versions available for her to pilot, she chooses tried and trusted over cutting edge. Fir'rah pilots the same old XV8 mk4 variant she first got the honor to pilot. Her signature weapons a plasma rifle, a missile pod, a shield generator and a drone controller. She may not be the fastest, but her years of combat and knowledge on the battlefield make her a master at guiding Tau ordinance onto its target. Choosing to personally guide her Marker drones to focus fire on key enemies, picking off important targets that would be the greatest threat to her troops.

The new Tau codex just dropped and I could not be more excited with the changes made. Commander units now no longer need to be the fancy model that is 1 to a box. Commanders can take a profile of a standard plain jane XV8 crisis suit. Having purchased old models way back in version 4 of the game apparently, the box came with 12 fire warriors, a handful of Kroot, 3 XV25 stealth suits, one YT7 Devilfish, and 1 XV8 crisis battle suit. Seeing as the current set of rules now only allow XV8's to be fielded in packs of 3, my poor little XV8 mk4 was never going to see action. Until now that is, now my old battlesuit is being painted to the role of commander and I had taken some time to come up with the cool thematic stuff above. Shas'O Fir'rah is a battle worn commander choosing to pilot her obsoleted old XV8 mk4 battlesuit over newer models.

Decided to make a brand new character instead of appropriating an old one. I don't know, I like bunnies a lot too. So here is a sketch of my new character Shas'O Fir'rah standing atop her XV8 mk4 Crisis battle suit armed with missile pod and other stuff out of shot. Yes, this is really how the model is built, and yes it is how I intend to paint it maybe with a few modifications here and there. I don't need to distinguish it that much from a Shas'Vre Crisis suit, because its smaller size should be a dead giveaway. Might try and make the head more bunny like, but I do think I want to do the white paw on the forehead and the little whiskers :3
