A personal thing from a while back... This is my Pathfinder Society character, Sellsword Rin.
She's a sellsword and hunter of monsters, quite serious and cold. Sort of a Van Helsing type.
I made her as an experiment in crossbow viability, a weapon regarded as very weak in the meta but with a bunch of weird rules attached. I tried very hard not to make a Vampire Hunter but the mechanics of it all ended up making me a Vampire Hunter, so I just embraced it. (Uh, the concept, I mean, not the class. She's a human fighter.)
She has a big edgy greatcloak full of weapons and loaded crossbows, as such, which she can dramatically unfurl and arm herself from at the first sign of danger.
So far, crossbows are surprisingly viable and incredibly versatile if built towards right... The trick is to get universal feats that benefit crossbows but also double up on other abilities, such as Quick Draw and Two Weapon Fighting, rather than specific feats that only benefit a crossbow like Rapid Reload and Rapid Shot. And also to focus on things a crossbow can do but a bow cannot, such as shooting one-handed to retain that buckler AC or using a melee weapon, crossbow, and buckler all at once.... I have a rough guide drafted up, actually.
...But yeah. This is acrylic, and I'm still pretty terrible at painting. But it's not bad, and the people at Pathfinder Society seem to be impressed.

well hey, can't got wrong with a vampire hunter aesthetic , even if you really had no choice XD
and yea, that's allot of fun. Making build to make "unviable weapons" viable. that's the kind of stuff building characters is all about! XD
but ye, looks really cool though! love seeing a more classic painting style every now and then. looks like she'd fit right into that universe! also, i find it funny how your edgy vampire slaying crossbow hero has a cute little green star on her cheek XD

Ye, I like making mechanically weird, possibly underpowered characters and just running with it.
The other fighter I'm playing, in my home game, plays entirely into the "Human Fighter" stereotype... I built her to essentially have no special abilities. She put all her feats into things like Toughness and Dodge. To the point of pulling out obscure 3.0 books to find more boring feats to take. She's level 12 now and her only notable feat is Quick Draw. It's surprisingly not boring though, since I end up doing a bunch of really esoetric, tricky things and invested in utility items to make up the difference.
Ah, and the star. Yeah, I like it... My early on concept for this character was that she was like Luffy from Gall Force, and the star was a reference to that. I kept it because it's cute and distinctive. Those stars, historically, were a type of cosmetic sticker to cover up a blemish (usually a scar) popular in certain historical periods.

Ah, I sees. that actually sounds like allot of fun XD building an unorthodox character with more mundane abilities like that. Kinda forces you to have to get creative with it. I imagine you're finding uses for that that most people have never even realized XD
And i sees! Hmm... don't think I've seen that. still, that's pretty interesting, didn't know that was a thing, but it makes sense :v yea, it's a neat option :b
