I drew this the other day in class. This was an assignment that I worked on with my art teacher about proper anatomy and character design. And I drew this little pic of Joe with proper body proportions. And my teacher suggested I give him a weapon of sorts (even though he doesn't need weapons to fight with as Joe is formidable in hand to hand). But I figured, Joe is good with boomerangs, nunchucks, and bo-staffs. But for this pic I decided to give him a boomerang since he's Australian. I know its stereotypical. But hey, gotta put in something.
