Reference Sheet for my Self Avatar, Nominus Expers. It's not quiiiite finished yet, but an explanation of some elements is in order.

Nominus has spent most of his life bound in human form, and has only recently become able to escape these bindings on a temporary basis, in cases of extreme need or concentration. The result of this escape is a transition from a normal human appearance to something all together frightening and unnatural as his ethereal traits an abilities begin to boil over onto the material plane. Chiefest among these abilities is an exaggerated auric presence. All living things exude a small amount of electromagnetic radiation, which is normally almost undetectable except with special equipment. In his case, however, his Aura can become so potent that it can be visible to the naked eye and can effect changes in materials, for example aging effects in inanimate objects, or healing or inflicting slight injuries on nearby living things. The change in appearance is most noticeable in the face, as follows.

The faces in the upper right, from left to right:

1. Seemingly ordinary human.

2. Irises are silver to white, contracted to the point that the pupil is nothing but a pinprick and may be drowned out by interference from aura. Eyes are becoming bloodshot, causing the sclera to appear dark around the edges. The sudden rush of blood to the occipital cavity also exaggerates the bruising around the eyes and sinuses from frequent exhaustion.

3. Irises are now completely white, scleras are completely black, and bruising extends down the cheeks. Interference form the aura is now capable of rapidly breaking down UV sensitive synthetics.

4. This level of presence cannot be sustained in superposition with the physical body, as it is so stressful and injurious to the vessel it can result in permanent injury. Rather, he is capable of multilocation. The body falls into a meditative trance, allowing the now near-physical body to roam at will as a dark, humanoid figure, featureless except for eyes and his grin. This effect is not because he absorbs all light, but rather diffuses any and all light that strikes him, resulting in a sort of optical jamming effect, though far from invisibility. His abilities are even stronger in this form, and it has
proven capable of taking human life on repeated occasions, at least once through sheer terror.

5. This form is purely ethereal and expresses his ethereal traits. It cannot exist completely on the material plane, but rather serves here as a reference for someone with extrasensory perception may see if they were to look at Nominus in the flesh.

Additional Discrepencies between Nominus Expers and Homo Sapiens.

Nominus' body has had long term exposure to tremendous ethereal pressure. Genetically, his human body is already extremely talented, posessing exaggerated xenobiotic resistances, immune response, rapid healing, high intelligence, and a combination of neurochemcial "disorders" which are highly conducive to the more pronounced awareness of his subtle self. His subtle bodies in fact possess so much potential that Nominus is capable of harnessing their abilities in physical form. Over several years, this has resulted in a level of sensory awareness that is truly beyond the capacity of most humans, as well as extremely high tissue density which renders him very, very difficult to harm.

Even while this is true, he still posesses an extremely acute sense of pain; in fact, most of his senses operate cooperatively through synaesthesia. He can feel sounds, hear tactile responses, and despite nearsightedness and astigmatism can actually process the information from his eyes much, much faster than he is capable of reacting to it. His attention is so sharply focused in fact, that he has been known to stare in fascination for many minutes at nothing more astonishing than a cathode display or a light bulb, because he can see the pixels activating and the filaments burning. His eyesight reaches farther into the ultraviolet spectrum than most, rendering him capable of staring into extreme brightness for periods of time that would cause severe pain or even blindness in most individuals.

He is also aware of processes of transition, change, in the world around him, and has been known to predict events well in advance of their occurences. Among his most common phrases are " Called it" or, "Saw that Coming."

He is, however, extremely frail in a small number of ways. Because of his synaesthesia, combined with his overactive mind, results in his having a very weak stomach, and he can be brought to vomiting at even the mention of certain subjects, most of them involving filth or excrement. Oddly, the depiction of such things bothers him much, much more than the things themselves.

He is also easily fatigued at any pace other than his own, but at his own pace he perform any kind of labor seemingly without exhaustion. Most of his employers have commented that he is "like a machine". Ironic comment for a creature that is, at core, an artifice.
