Wanted to update Vynn's design a bit with a nice new portrait. And ever since I got glasses a couple months ago, I've been meaning to draw him wearing some. So there's that.
All in all, this painting was basically a big experiment with my techniques. Went out of my comfort zone with a few things, like the lighting. I recently purchased the DAUB set of traditional media brushes for Clip Studio Paint. There are way more brushes than I would ever use (there's over 300) but I'm slowly weeding out the ones I like. I'd really love to work on my use of hard and soft edges, as well as texture. It's a painting style I really enjoy so I thought, why not give it a shot? Man, I have no idea what I'm doing. But I'm gonna work on it!
Lemme know what you think!

Thaaank you!
Hmm, yeah I've been there. At one point I only drew linework because I felt like I would just ruin it if I colored it. If I can offer any brief advice it would be to look up some color theory videos on youtube. Really eye-opening stuff. You'll know when it clicks. Color relativity is a big concept to understand as well. And lastly, it might seem counter-intuitive but just learn to conquer values. Values are more important than color so if you can get that down, you will benefit greatly.
And since you mention "method" I might as well add that starting dark and adding light can really help as opposed to starting light and adding shadow. It's much more natural, in my opinion.
