Yep, I read "The Reluctant Prince, the Sympathetic Princess, the Beautiful Gypsy-boy, and the Sensitive Dragon" back in the days of Ten Furcent, and got just as big a kick out of it today, when I sat down and re-read it. It's the most charming tale you've ever written, a kind of gay-positive Princess Bride, if you'll forgive the comparison.

Victor and Sasha make quite a couple, and the fairytale (ha!) ending is sweet as honey on the tongue.

I forgive comparison and pun alike. :) I love this story, and I was always sad that it didn't get a better reception than it did.

There are more gay-themed YA novels in print now than there were fifteen years ago. Who knows, maybe this tale was just a little ahead of its time.

Well, I think, also, it was that I was writing for a magazine that did a lot of erotica, and this story was just this silly, gentle fairytale.
