Yep. Been there. And this piece is really just following the trend, which makes it seem so much worse. Right? 'Course, my following is much smaller than yours, and I haven't drawn anything in ages, so...I have less room to be upset. But I dealt with the same issues back when I actually was drawing and posting regularly.
*hugs* I dunno if it helps, but I'm on here daily if you want to note me and rant or whatever.

I post my detailed sketches and hand drawn art that takes about 8-12 hours on a discord furry server (raysfire) and I get almost no reactions. The next picture is someone posted of what looks like a badly drawn microsoft art that's a fursona of a fox I believe. that got at least 30 reactions. >: As an artist, I am glad you brought this up. Tell me, I am not the only one.
I think that there is so much "art" around us all around that we are being bombarded with, that only two groups stand out in eyes of majority
Simple art - because its easy to understand - Digesting it is so very easy, its light and easy and no brains are needed
Desired art - Dont know how to name this... I mean art of our particular interest that we are already close to. That makes it easy to aproach and easy to see value in.
Simple art is so very much easy to aproach... or something that is desired that in my case often is either fetishes or art of some of my particular interest. Like.. lets says includes or is about certain model of car for example.
sooo yeah.
I agree with this, and feel like too often it's disregarded. There's a couple things I'd love to add.
Firstly, as you've noticed, a lot of great, complex, detailed art takes a significant portion of time to properly digest, because there's a lot happening. Everyone has their "affinity" for some aspects in art. For example for me those are high contrast, vibrant images preferrably with a lot of depth of field. An image is more likely to be appreciated by me if it contains those features, because they're easier and quicker for me to dig into. Artists who choose to explore a wide spectrum of themes within their art may attract people for multiple different specific things. This, in turn, makes the watchers pick what they enjoy while paying less attention to the rest. Of course that doesn't mean that people don't enjoy things from outside of their usual preferrence, but it's just... not as prioritized ^^
And secondly, there are other factors that the artist has really little control over that may affect how well received a piece may be. Things such as amount of new images in the inbox of a user, the position (and/or shape, colours etc.) of the thumbnail in relation to other images in the inbox or the browsing page - basically how well the submission stands out. Or even as subtle things as how well the viewer's job went that day. These things also affect how much attention people will have for art.
In the end my suggestion is to understand that stuff like this can happen and can be completely unrelated to how high quality an art piece is. While it's always awesome to see someone show love for what we create, it's not necessarily proportional to how good the art piece is. Especially if the artist enjoyed creating it.

I know sometimes something is so petty as a commenter that I feel how can I say something that really captures the beauty, soul, and work put into it? So I try to compose something that is more worthy of it than simply “It’s so pretty.”
As an artist would you be insulted by comments along the lines of “This is beautiful, you put so much work into it and I can’t really put into words how lovely this is?”

That's not at all what I meant... In fact I was going to say your usual work is actually so pretty that a lot of people just don't know what to comment. The doodles however usually have some emotion (sad, goofy, etc) that people like to comment on.
I don't know why on Earth you'd think I dislike your work when I've commissioned you so many times...

That is the plight of the modern artist. Because there is so much content out there for normal art, much of it gets unnoticed by the masses, but
since there isn't an overwhelming amount of drawn porn (plus it doesn't take long for people to get bored of a new nude pic), people are constantly
looking for fresh porn-related content. Just keep making porny art with some SFW gems here and there, and you'll get more exposure eventually ;3
