Another old song, this time from mid-late 2006. I had to salvage this off my old iPod, convert it from WMA to WAV, do some mastering, then convert it to MP3, so the fidelity is kinda borked, as I don't have the original files I used with Sonar to create the song nor the original plugins.
I think I've gotten a lot better with drums since this song. They're pretty repetitive here.
Sonar with Guitar Rig 2 and Reason. All instruments and vocals by me.
This is a longer song. I'd envisioned it to sit at or near the end of an album. Sort of a minimalistic, gradual development. The vocals don't come in until 4:06.
Lyrics:
They're chattering low
Passing the time
Plotting a road
Wondering light
Counting the clock
Thinking about
Where we gonna eat tonight?
Finding the way of
Numbing the mind
Taking the train
End of the line
Something to do
Something to say
I ain't really listening
It's a bright and sunny day
I think I'll go walking alone, walking alone
I think I'll go walking away
They mumble in tounges
Of a corporate world
Quarter to five
And they're right out the door
Swollen through streets
Driving a place
They've already been before
Floating through life
In the simplest stream
Never a thought
Of what it all means
Got something to prove,
Got something to say?
I ain't really listening
It's a bright and sunny day
I think I'll go walking alone, walking alone
I think I'll go walking away
It's a bright and sunny day (x2)
I think I'll go walking alone
I think I'll go walking away
