[SeldomSeenSpeciesSunday] Babirusa
This week's star of Seldom Seen Species Sunday is the.....
Babirusa ❤
The babirusas, also called deer-pigs are a genus, Babyrousa, in the swine family found in Wallacea, or specifically the Indonesian islands of Sulawesi, Togian, Sula and Buru. Babirusa are notable for the long upper canines in the males. The tusks of the adult males are used in intraspecific fighting. The upper tusks are for defense while the lower tusks are offensive weapons. If a babirusa does not grind its tusks (achievable through regular activity), they can eventually keep growing so as to penetrate the animal's own skull.
NOTE: I encourage you not to spam me with "DRAW THIS" "DRAW THAT" "ARE YOU GONNA DRAW THIS?". I have a list of animals I want to draw, I will draw the animals I want to draw, and I want this to be fun for me. I don't want this to become a chore like Fanart Friday eventually did. If there is a certain animal you want to see get some spotlight, why not take part in Seldom Seen Species Sunday?
