Some idle doodling with Illustrator brought up this character who's been sitting around since 2004 or so. Someday I would like to do some comics with her but despite all my best efforts she still feels too much like Hellboy fanfic to make me happy. Even though she owes as much to the Shadow and to some of Lord Dunsanay's early work as Mignola.
Her name is Mary, she used to be completely human, and she kills monsters.

I am really sorry to hear that. :-<
By way of a minor coincidence, those two are the only novels of Dunsany I own at the minute.
I'm hoping to get S.T. Joshi's Lord Dunsany: Master of the Anglo-Irish Imagination, but it's £70 at it's cheapest, something to save up for I guess. x-)

Dunsany, Machen, Blackwood, Hodgson... Apart from the odd collection or reprint they're all hard to get hold of. Mind you, the Gollancz Fantasy Masterwork imprint is rather good, and the Dunsany collection "Time and the Gods" has all the major collections of short stories in it and is a reasonably priced paperback. In fact, it's the book which turned me on to a whole world of early 20th C. English Weird Tales. :3
