This is dude (lame joke, I know), he's a Bactrian camel, and dealer to ZigZag and Rizrah.

The person me and Roach get our 'goods' off (I don't much like the word dealer, to be honest, sounds sleazy) is a mysterious and dark person. We don't even really know their name. In fact, we've never seen them. It�s a friend of a friend of a friend type deal which saves on walking. So, when I knew I had to come up with a dealer for ZigZag and Rizrah, I started thinking about what kind of animal it could be. Since everything in their universe is a hoofed mammal, it narrowed it down a little.
And camels are just damn scary. They're ugly, they make the most horrible noises but, from an artistic point of view, they're pretty interesting.


This guy (or girl, I�m toying with having no-one know what gender it is) is as creepy as he seems. He doesn't ever speak, but he'll make noises. He's very stoic, rarely seen to move, and is very very hard to find. He lives in the wilderness and is far less 'domestic' than anyone else in their little world. Everyone in town knows who he is. He's also pretty old. ZigZag and Rizrah are both a little creeped out by him, hence why we try and avoid meeting. I kinda imagine that Vangelis song being on every time he's around.

It is unknown whether Dude is an extremely intelligent and insightful character who took himself away to live apart from society, or if he's just a completely insane social outcast. It�s hard to tell as he will never say a word, at least not in any recognised language. He's supposed to be rather unnerving, and I don't imagine he smells very good either.

Dude is the first time I've drawn a camel, hence the uninspired pose. I just wanted to try and get his markings and such in my head. Camels have got to be one of the most anatomically bizarre animals on earth. Even the way their hind legs attach to their body seems implausible.
His design may change subtly from this, as did ZigZag's from his first pic, but mostly I�m happy with how he looks
