So the most basic way I go about explaining vore is to compare it to a more... exotic form of BDSM, especially power play and bondage.

-Well for this one, it's not far off from the previous question due to being turned on n such, but an appeal for being devoured is based on a person's preference. For some cases, it can be a form of comfort, to be embraced by someone and held inside their stomach. In a full body hug of sorts within a pred. Which isnt just for oral vore but other types as well here and there. Other times its giving yourself to another as an act of submission to have someone else have control over you. Becoming their food or captive. Oftentimes being digested, which has a whole lot of outcomes in its own way. Be it fatal, non-fatal, perma, and so on. Each having different results of course. One of the unique things about Vore as a fetish is that due to the wide variety of types of vore, and the various aspects that can change in it, there's no one answer. But to simplify things, two to focus on are the most split variant: Fatal and Non-Fatal. I'll go more into detail on the difference between the two in the next question, but I can shortly summarize them here.

For fatal vore, it's often similar to a BDSM relationship between a dominant and submissive person, replaced with predator and prey, respectively. This is seen in non-fatal vore, but it is closer to being akin to sex, and isn't always an aspect of non-fatal. Non-fatal is more about intimacy, and body play. It's similar to how things such as smothering or facesitting can turn someone on.

As for more detailed aspects of what specifically turns vore on, aside from dominance, closeness is a common thing, which can be seen when a predator presses someone to their stomach, or whatever the prey is in/will be in. For Fatal vore, where the prey is digested and doesn't come back, it's a very extreme fantasy of dominance of the predator over the prey. To be taken by the predator, and consumed simply to sate a hunger, or for a thrill, and then being digested away from the world, completely under the control and ownership of the predator, whether they be unwilling or willing prey. The predator gets a huge sense of power over it, as well, and usually the act results in them becoming larger, or more curvy, basically more attractive, in addition. Becoming a permanent addition to the predator also might give the prey a sense of purpose, or the enjoyment that they're making someone more beautiful, or bringing them joy.

For non-fatal vore, it can be more seen as an act of intimacy, or "oneness", almost equivalent to sex, or a very passionate, intimate snuggle. Having someone holding you so deep and close inside of them, hidden away from the world, just enjoying being with each other, it can be quite intimate and compelling. This one more often extends from people's first exposure to vore, which is usually in media, like in children's TV shows. The act of one creature or person being in another through the act of vore is not an uncommon sight, and it's usually portrayed comically and in a more fun, whimsical light. Due to the psychological aspect of how children's media can affect someone, if the person enjoys that moment, it might stick with them, and eventually develop into a fetish. This is true for fatal, as well, but non-fatal is more likely to form in someone this way. It can also stem from a sense of lonliness, which vore would evidently fix, by its nature.

Now, oral vore is most commonly compared with eating a meal, and often focuses on that aspect of it a bit.

Cock vore and Unbirth are often sexually charged, and usually are more focused on being a sex act. This is true for fatal, or non-fatal, with fatal almost having a "snu-snu" affect, with the intimacy and lust going so far that one ends up killing the other in a climactic way, which is a turn on for some. When it's fatal, they (almost) always become the predator's cum, turning the event from intimate sex into almost masturbation, which gives the prey a thrill, for being disregarded or tossed aside, and the predator a thrill for feeling powerful or royal for being able to afford doing that.

Anal vore is more lucrative, as it's often a more sexual version of oral vore. Anal vore is to oral vore, as anal sex is to vaginal sex. It's mainly a sexual variant, and places a bit more sexual drive in it, and more focus on the ass. It's often used with the prey being a dildo, sitting on the prey, or having the prey rim the predator before they're anal vored. Due to the fact that the interests line up with oral so strongly, due to the destination, it's helped it become more common and well-loved for those who enjoy ass.

I feel as though I've described this a few times above, but I can summarize it once more.

For prey, it's a submissive role, and they tend to strive more for relationships, intimacy, and pleasing others. This is true among both sizes, with micros enjoying the dominance far more, as they tend to be more powerless, and small to the predator, literally and figuratively. In either size, giving themselves fully to the predator is appealing, fatal or not, depending on how far they want to go. Prey often like being "used", which is a common turn-on for many submissive people.

For predators, it's a dominant role, and they tend to strive more for self-fulfillment, feeling large, beautiful, and in control. Macros often feel even more dominating and in control, and more often than not have plenty of attention their way, almost as if they're a god. For fatal, they enjoy the idea of people sacrificing their lives simply to be their meal, and to further their own beauty, getting larger, more chubby and curvy. For non-fatal, they enjoy the temporary dominance over them, and can almost feel worshiped at times for having someone within them. Of course, none of the things above are hard and fast rules, as everyone has their own reasons for enjoying it. This is seen in concepts like micro predators and macro prey, dominant prey and submissive predators, endo, digestion and reforming, and fatal, along with many other vore types not listed here, like breast, navel, and even more bizzare, nasel, eye, ear, foot, and even bellbottom vore. But these are simply the more common reasons, at least what I interpret as the more common reasons.

Well, I'm glad I could provide the answers! Fetishes are mainly psychological, so it's mainly based on experiences culminating into a fetish. It works similarly to a fear, just with the opposite reaction. So, theoretically, one could get turned on by a ferris wheel. It's not normal, and very odd, but possible psychologically, much like how being scared of, say, fluffy bunnies is weird, but possible. I'm always happy to discuss the subject, and I'm glad it was illuminating!

Well, if it wasn't obvious by the use of quotation marks around "predator" and "prey", I lean heavily on the nonfatal end of vore. If we agree that vore is "strictly fantasy", I see no reason why fantasies should be limited to the implied real-world ramifications of being swallowed in such a way. Again, for me, it's about the sense of intimacy.

I guess, for me, the benefit of alt-vore is the implications. For starters, it makes it that much more fantastical -- that much further removed from the real-world implications. Unbirth also has the added benefit of placing the "prey" in a womb environment, which you're free to interpret as the "predator" caring for the prey like a parent would (I've always had a thing for inter-species adoption).

I tend to lean more towards same-size vore, and if I had to put my finger on it, the reason is that it requires far more effort on the part of the predator. The smaller the "prey", the less effort on the part of the "predator" to swallow it whole and alive, and the less effort is put into such a thing, the far less likely it is that I needed quotation marks.

Same-size (or near to it), on the other hand, would require a great deal of time and effort. And when you take that effort into consideration, it removes any possibility of this being "just a meal" for the pred -- that this "prey" is special; that this is the one they want inside them, and that it won't do unless they can be kept alive and in one piece.

Chances are, you already understand most of the appeal to vore... but in a non-sexual manner. Lets start with this: what exactly is sexual appeal to begin with? As it's most basic level, you could say that it's a desire to achieve sexual gratification, but for almost everyone out there, it goes further than that. People are instinctively attracted to the opposite sex, with fixations on wide hips or ample breasts in the case of most men. Attraction to these things isn't exactly logical – touching fat deposits has no direct correlation to receiving physical sexual stimulation, yet this mental aspect of arousal is very real, even necessary. To word it another way, were it that people solely desired the gratification of sexual release, the mere thought of achieving it would be all that would be necessary TO achieve it, and the porn industry would be long since bankrupt.

Some would say that it comes down to instinct – a women with wide hips can bear children easily, a man that looks athletic is likely strong and can provide for a family. But, if you take that away, and simply look at these features... there's not much you can say about them other than that they're nice. They're aesthetically pleasing, maybe pleasing to feel as well. And that's about it.

If you can understand that something as simple as a breast that happens to be nice to look at or nice to feel can also correlate to sexual attraction, you're already well on your way to understanding the attraction to all fetishes. That same part of our brains that says that those certain 'nice' things of other parts of people's bodies are also sexually attracted can also be linked to other things. Feet, as an example, can be seen as attractive. Why? Well, feet are soft, feet are the most unique part of our bodies which no one's looking quite the same as anyone else's... feet are nice. Thus, the mutual, human appreciation for the fact that we have feet to walk on can be translated into a sexual attraction.

The same applies for all fetishes. Do you think that the idea of being all powerful is nice? Domination fetish. Would it be nice, not having to think too hard about things, and just relaxing and letting things take their course? Submission, or even mind-control fetish. Can you appreciate that cars are nice? There's someone out there that REALLY enjoys how the upholstery of the seats in his car feels. Ever gone camping and thought that the warmth of a campfire felt nice? You can go and and google the guy who is aroused by setting pieces of himself on fire. Some people have simply arousal linked to other senses, like taste and their olfactory inputs. There are folks out there that enjoy their meals so much that it arouses them. Some people like certain smells to the same extent. Essentially, though, if you can understand liking a satisfying meal or stopping to smell the flowers, you can also understand that someone's brain can be linked to sexually liking those things as well.

And the list of all that goes on and gets weirder and weirder.

Then, there's the fact that certain emotions can be linked to sexual desire as well. Hate-boners are a very real thing – some people get inexplicably aroused in times of immense anger. Some, it's from being afraid. Masochists might get the same sensations from embarrassment, and thus crave their own humiliation, or even directly from pain.


Now take ALL of that, throw it into a pot, and take a random handful of it out. That's vore. At least, part of it. There's a great deal many different reasons someone might be attracted to vore, so any mix of appeals could belong to any particular person... though I think most people are drawn to vore by one thing: the fantasy of it all. I'll try and elaborate, while going into each facet of this big mess that we try to combine into one fetish.

Let's start with the most common type, Oral Vore.
For prey: There's the submission aspect, the act of all control being taken away from them, taken to an extreme. Or, for those that would rather just be another meal, it could be about being part of something greater than yourself – a common desire for many people that choose to be a part of social gatherings, only taken to an extreme here. Or, it could be entirely a physical thing: I like breasts, I'll become breasts, only bigger and better. It's different for everyone, or a combination therein.
For Predators: If you can imagine eating a satisfying meal, imagine one that's much more filling, but without any of the inconveniences of bloating and cramps, and with the added benefit of a flavor better than anything you can imagine. Maybe it feels even better than that – if you can imagine why people like being on the receiving end of sex, the feeling of being filled can apply here, with something much bigger pushing against your insides. If you like domination, then you get absolute control over someone, with the potential for permanence. The romance aspect can apply here, as well – bringing someone to care about to be even closer to you.

I think that by now you can likely see a reoccurring theme: the extreme. People that like vore know that it's all in fantasy... so they make it the BEST fantasy possible. A stomach is the MOST comfortable location. Being digested is the best feeling in the world – something worth dying for. It's the CLOSEST you can get to someone you care about. There's no pain, unless having it would make it even better, for both predator and prey, despite what reality would dictate. A good portion of people don't even like the concept of death in their digestion, so they simply have their bodies reform afterwards, entirely in-tact... because it's a fantasy. Why not remove each and every negative aspect of it, and make it the most optimal situation possible?

Why couple just two parts of the body when you can take the whole thing, and remove the negative aspects like stretching and pain?
