I just saw this movie for the first time, or rather the second half of it. I couldn't quite get into it- like it didn't interest me as much as most of Pixar's other movies. Was there something I missed or wasn't getting? :<

I will admit I did like the main character- Patton is always great to just listen to :]

If you start watching any movie at the half way point, you can guarantee that there will be things you miss and won't get.

In this case, you missed Remy's history and entire motivation for doing what he's doing. Also information on the restaurant and it's previous Chef that become vital to the setting and the plot resolution of the second half of the movie. The setting and premise is so unusual (at least for most Hollywood films) that not seeing the segue into how things came to be is definitely going to impact your understanding and hence enjoyment of the movie. Good animation isn't just about pretty pictures!

He looks more mousy now. I remember how the creators had mentioned something about how they couldn't make Remy too cute cuz he was a rat, which aren't generally adored.

This is hard to pick but I think I like the 07 version. While the 09 version is softer and sweater the pose is stronger in the the 07 version. Technically the 09 version is better executed, it needed the strength of the 07 version to make it really stand out. Otherwise good job.
