"I don't understand it, Vegeta? As proud as you are, why let Babidi enslave you just so you could get stronger."
"I... I had to... I had to become the person I was SUPPOSED to be!!!
"I was supposed to be the heartless Saiyan prince who cared about nothing but turning the Universe into my own personal battleground!! I LOST myself!!
I lost myself to your kindness and decency!! I realized I had a family... A family I'd grown fond of.
"And I started to like living on Earth. It felt peaceful... Right.
"But I would gladly become a slave if it turned me into who I was meant to be. And I've never felt better in my life.
"...You can't lie to yourself forever, Vegeta."
I figured I'd do an interpretation of one of my favorite Dragonball moments: Vegeta explaining why he allowed himself to become a Majin. Personally, I think the gambit was probably always going to fail, at least in eliminating Vegeta's newfound humanity for a simple reason.
Babidi can bring out the evil in his slaves, but he can't eliminiate the good.
Dabura was loyal to Babidi till the end, even warning the ungrateful fucker that Majin Buu was uncontrollable. Yamu basically ordered Spopovich to spare Videl's life out of genuine pity.
Even Vegeta, prideful as he is, blew himself up in an attempt to kill Buu, knowing that he'd most likely go to Hell. But he did it anyway, all to keep Bulma and Trunks safe.
As Goku put it, he still had a soul.
