I have to agree with him here. Rowan should be more worried about her future than her father's future, which is not going to change in the foreseeable future.

Some parents look at their failings and the good ones pray, their offspring don't repeat them. Move forward hun. Her father if he's not on multiple life sentences will be out and see she's in a better place

well done. This is all too real. I love that Rowan's father is still being a good dad, even though he's been tried for treason (which btw in most earthly countries is punishable by death). I've seen things like this before, being a criminal doesn't preclude you from being a good father. Which I think this shows perfectly.
