A small roleplay detail from SinaiMuck, long, long ago, was that the Naga characters typically swallowed their food without chewing. It wasn't always live food, although that did help the digestion. So, the main component of Naga cuisine was sauce focused, it was all about coating the food in something interesting to taste. The actual meat/veg/bug/whatever would tend to be flavour-less.

Non-Naga who were savy would just lick the sauces off and throw away the cooked things, making it more like candy.
