That's how it was simplified. I assume you're talking about his secondary mutation (his feline form) and not his engineered mutation (the blue-furred simian shape caused by his own experimental mutagen).

If it were a chain whip, I'm wondering if he could electrify that and use an electrified whip against the baddies. :3 He does look rather good in that getup and the hat.
