★ Personal Art : "Never Let Me Go", Captulan and True Blue
★ Hi there everyone~
★ Friday was a very special day as it was my John's birthday~ Doing my best to catch up on posts as well as being sick I worked through the night for a few nights to finish a few gifts I wanted to make for him ( really hoping that isn't what turned my cold into a sinus infection. ; u ; ). This piece has been in progress for about a year but I really wanted to finish it for his birthday~ I'm very glad that he liked it and that I was able to deliver it on time! I love you John, no one compares to you~<3 This is also the first time Captulan's finalized design has been drawn. We've been working on his design for years!

Size difference is super fun to draw
The double-horns are really cool. Sloan was actually brainstorming his "Full Moon Demon Form"
which will have similar horns, raptor claws and dragon wings! Also it is 3 feet taller than his sona!!!

Hi Kima! Thank you so much, I really am too~ I'd sit down to sketch for a bit but then feel a bit guilty and get back to work on commissions. ; u ; With it being John's birthday though I took some time to push a bit and get this one finished~ Hoping to be able to let up a bit on myself this year and let myself work on more personal pieces in between commissions. Really hoping no one would mind? I'm excited to see Sloans character once he is ready!
I am doing the same! It is important for artists to do personal art or else to art we do for others does start to feel like work. John definitely appreciates it, I'm sure
I've learned so many things while working on personal art! Since we enjoy it more, we don't mind spending a little extra time to get everything perfect. It improves our attention to detail!
I know that people will understand, so don't worry! Just let them know in a journal if you get too overwhelmed good clients don't mind waiting for quality and will usually expect us to also have our own lives to sort out.

I wouldn't say I enjoy personal artwork more than my commissioned work, I actually really enjoy both~ When I deliver a piece and the commissioner is really happy, it's a really great feeling with nothing quite like it~<3 ; u ; Suppose that makes it a bit harder for me to pull away for personal projects. I do use them as an opportunity to experiment and hopefully learn and improve! <3 Part of why I really hope to do a bit more personal work this year to try a few new things, without slowing down my other work. It's a hard balance to be sure~ ; u ;
Oh, I totally understand the feeling! I have done a few memorial pieces. Once my clients sent me a video of his wife seeing the commission for the first time and she was in tears of joy! I was overcome by so much love and good vibes!!!
