why hell? i'd love to have anywhere near that level of public transportation where i live.

only place i've ever been near that level is the san francisco bay area,
with no place i know of within it that isn't astronomically expensive to live there.

to me, the hell, is cars in cities and a politics that economically coerces people into indenturing themselves to own one.

and worse, the inadequacy of transportation services to smaller communities between major population centers.

i suppose confusing inconsistencies resulting from history can be annoying.
