The woods are dense but at least they shelter you from
the cold, unforgiving winds of Roenden. You venture deeper
into the forest, but the only other living things you can see
or hear are birds flying from one tree to another.

The search leads him deeper into the woods! Davros is a pretty wild-living Vayron so he probably wouldn't get lost, but it's better to stay on the path in situations like this.
