Did you use any references for this sketch?
What is your approach on shading and lighting?
Did you use a middle gradient for the background? How do you do that?

Only for the pose, not for the body shape.
I use light and dark colors for lighting and shading, while using the layer modes Luminosity and Shade in SAI, regulating their intensity through the visibility of the layer.
Not sure what you mean by that. The background consists of a solid color, a radial gradiant and a vignette https://image.ibb.co/iusFqx/bg.jpg

I see, references can be a big help in how you want a picture to look like. I don't use SAI, but is "Luminosity" available in Photoshop? Otherwise, thank you for that.
I should've said "radial gradient" since that makes more sense. Although it looks like it's the same thing as a vignette when I look it up on Google Images.
Unless that picture you showed - is that basically A+B=C? That's what it looks like to me anyway.

Photoshop has a layermode called Luminosity but it's different from SAI's luminosity mode. In Photoshop it's the "Linear Dodge (Add)" layermode that is closest to SAI's Luminosity. The picture I showed I A+B+C, the darker edges is an additional layer.
