Old Console, New Fur

COUGH HACK COUGH GASP!
Henry wiped the dust cloud from his face feebly, hacking out a thick layer of dust that
came off of a box he yanked out of storage. While his parents were out of town, Henry came
back to their place to clean out some old stuff he left behind when he moved out.
“Been way too long since I looked at this stuff,” he coughed, knocking out the last of the
dust in him.
The box he grabbed was a curious one, with the label, “Game Console and Games”,
written across the top of it. Popping it open, much to his amusement, he found his old Wii
console, controllers, and games. “Heh,” he chuckled, “Forgot I stored this stuff here.”
It had been years since he had packed up his system, accessories, and games. He had
planned to take them with him when he first got his new apartment. But, after finally moving in,
the plan simply slipped his mind.
“Well you’re coming home with me,” he said, popping the lid back onto the box. He
snatched it up and turned to head back upstairs, but stopped for a moment.
He glanced at the TV setup down in the basement, where he used to play his old consoles
on when he still lived there. Glancing between the box and TV, he headed over, mumbling,
“Better do a quick check if this stuff still works.”
He quickly set everything up and turned on the Wii, even getting the controllers working
despite the old batteries from years ago still in there. The menu screen came on, still no issues
there either. “Alright then,” he mumbled, grabbing the first game from the box he could, “Let’s
give this a shot then…”
He had pulled out his copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, something he hadn’t touched even
longer than the Wii itself. Wiping the back of the disc, he tossed it into the console and started it
right up. Again, there didn’t seem to be a problem at all, the game loading up just fine.
Henry sighed and let out a small chuckle, scratching the back of his head, “man, I was
worried for nothing. Better just…”
He reached for the console to shut it back off but paused just before pressing it. The screen
started glitching out and the game seemed to be acting on its own, setting up for a match. It jumped
to the Character Selection screen, the cursor moving over towards the Lucario.
“What the hell?” He yelled, pressing the power button quickly, “what is going on with…”
ZZZZAAPP! The moment he shut the system down was the moment the console zapped
and knocked him straight on his ass.
He laid on his back and groaned, his fingers tingly and twitchy from the sudden zap. As
he laid there, the hand that pressed the system off began to change. Dark fur sprouted over each
individual finger, his fingernails vanishing. Two of his fingers merged with each other, leaving
him with four.
As a cylindrical horn sprouted from the top of his hand, Henry groaned and slowly sat up
once more, “what… what the hell was that?”
He rubbed his sore forehead, pausing when he realized something fuzzy was brushing up
against it now. He pulled his hand away and gasped, seeing the fur coat and spike on it. His
eyes darted over to his other hand, seeing it slowly change as well.
He opened his mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out. Not even a peep
as fur continued to grow up his arms next. This time though, the color of the fuzz was a bright,
shimmering blue.
Henry could only gulp and fidgeted in place on the ground as he watched the fur disappear
underneath his shirt’s sleeves. He could still feel it growing beneath, the problem still there despite
being out of sight. If anything, the growing fur only agitated him and was making him feel hotter.
Carefully brushing the sweat his fur head with his new paws, he gripped the bottom of his
T-shirt and lifted it up and over. He tossed to the side, revealing his stomach, which had started
growing a tannish-yellow shade of hair over it. Around his shoulder blades, a thick, almost solid,
circular patch of black fur had sprouted up as well.
“What the hell is this?!” He yelled, trying to find the strength to stand up, “What… what
the hell is going on?!” His legs refused to obey him, keeping him glued to the ground where he
sat.
From the center of his chest, Henry felt an odd, stinging sensation. He winced and
gripped at the area with his paw, fearing the worst on top of everything. After a moment of
doing so, he yanked it back as a new stinging sensation arose in the palm of his hand.
Looking at the area, a large spike, similar to the ones on the back of his paw hands, was
growing out of his chest. It stretched forward several inches as his torso hardened, his muscles
tightening and swelling into a tougher state.
New addition to his body instantly clicked within his head. “Holy crap,” he muttered,
“I’m… I’m turning into a Lucario!”
His pants soon started feeling uncomfortable as well, forcing him to yank them off and
toss to side with his shirt. The reason was soon apparent, watching as his thighs and hips grew
super thick, puffy blue fur. In particular, it was fur that almost looked like the shape of shorts
given their look.
He gulped, but reached down and felt the spot, his hand brushing through the soft coat. A
black band of fur similar in color and thickness as his shoulders sprouted just above the blue fuzz,
separating it more distinctly from his cream fur torso. Following that, more black fur sprouted
around his knees and down the remainder of his legs.
His entire being felt numb as he watched the black waves of fur rush across his lower
limbs, engulfing them completely. His feet twitched and shifted, their shapes turning more
canine in look. Black pads sprouted out the bottom of his toes, which had merged into only three
now. His legs and feet swelled just a tiny bit at the very end, giving them a tad more strength.
Only after they had completely transform did Henry find the power within him to stand
again. It was wobbly at first, but he soon found his stance, standing perfectly on the balls of his
canine feet. At this point, there was nothing he could do or say anymore, just accepting what
would be coming.
Gaining his balance, a few new features sprouted from his body. Just above his tighter
butt, a blue, fuzzy tail grew out. It extended a foot or so in length, stretching into a sharp point at
the end of it. From the back of his head, four long, pudgy aura sensors sprouted out, two on each
side of his head. They gently moved from side to side as he glanced around.
“Definitely Lucario,” he muttered, his enthusiasm at rock bottom for what was happening.
He sighed, just exhausted by everything as he felt his face tingled. The end of his
transformation was at its end. All of his hair shrunk back into his noggin, leaving him bald as
could be. His ears stretched out into long, pointed, canine ears, moving from the sides of his
head to the very top.
His ears twitched in place as his transformation leapt towards its end. His eyes turned
bright red as they moved towards the sides of his face. His nose and face stretched forward into
a short, thick, bottle-nose almost muzzle, his mouth filling with canine fangs. Blue fur flowed
over his head while black fur sprouted around his head, almost like a black bandana.
Nothing human about Henry remained. Everything was gone, leaving only a Lucario
standing in his place.
“I don’t get this!” He mumbled, feeling his face up, “I don’t get any of this! How did this
happen!? …how am I going to get out of here without being seen? The neighbors will freak
out… unless I leave when its dark out and…”
“Honey!” A familiar, horrifying voice rang out from upstairs, “Are you here? We came
home early! If you want to stay, I can make dinner for all of us!”
Henry froze, his heart skipping a beat. The only words out of his mouth were: “Crap.”
