Question, when working on an icon what size do you start out with and how do you shrink it down so perfectly?

I'm glad you like the icon!

I start off all my icons at 400X400 then make a box inside that is 300X300.

I then sketch within the box the character on a separate layer, this allows me to control what i want exactly int he box since I can easily move the image around.

One I finish the sketch I ink it on a separate layer and crop the size to 300X300

Lastly I color the icon!

then all I have to do is resize it to 100X100 (a lot of times I zoom out to see how the icon would look once I shrink it to make sure that everything stands out ok.)
