It's decent amount, one I think that is fair. I could be charging $20 or even $30 for these, except I'm not because that would be overpriced and a rip-off. This is a product that I have spend time and energy on, because I love to write and because I think that a writing YCH is a concept not commonly seen compared to your popular art YCH.
This may only be 500 words to you, but to me it's 500 words of a scene that took me quite a while to write and word correctly, to the point where I was happy with it. So I understand where your coming from, but I'd prefer it if my prices were not criticised just from the length of the story.
If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that, mate.
