While doing some yard work last June I discovered this little tyke resting at the foot of a tree on the edge of my back yard. The fawn was no more than 5-6 feet away from me (I took this picture with my cel phone) and no doubt knew I was there. It seemed rather nonchalant about my presence (though it was a warm day and that might have been a factor). I checked later that day and it was gone; I assume mom came by to pick up her child (it is not uncommon to see the occasional deer saunter through my back yard).
