Shelly here is a bit shocked at what happened to her. See, she grew up a normal human girl with normal human things. One day though, she and her group of friends got kidnapped. Combined with some voluentary medical expiriments done to her, and the stress of being... well, kidnapped, she transformed into what we see here. her life changed forever. This is just after that first change and regaining control of her actions. It seems she was also a very rare breed of shapeshifter. A thylacine, to be exact. An animal that had been extinct for almost a full century.
