A little bit of both. You see the project has gotten to a size and will require so much work that I might as well make a living out of it. However that being the case means the Pokemon need to be replaced. The good side is the Pokemon animals are the only real thing that is Copyrightted. Story, world, characters are of my own design.
So replace some minor things, right? Though, I wonder, what will you be using instead of Pokemon? Your own species? Real creatures? Or are you gonna hold like a ych or something to figure out what's in their place? I remember when the first demo came out... I couldn't beat the houndoom x'D that exstroy nommed me every time >w>
In a way, kind of all of that. What I need to do is basically make up my own creature dex. I have a few of the replacement designs here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/23569003/. It is a mix of the Pokemon creature model and real-life creatures. I'm taking my time, as a lot of characters are being changed, which does have its advantages. Gives me 100% control of the project, the characters and their designs. So some can be crafted to better suit the character written for them.
Oh? Well, I've seen many large games I think. I don't think there's a problem with it at all. I mean....isn't Voremon large? I would think Game Freak doesn't really care about things like fan-games. However, making money off of it? I still don't see a problem, but I guess it's possible...
