I studied at an art school, I was engaged with private teachers and I have an incomplete higher education in the Institute of Arts.
I really like classical traditional painting and I really want to achieve mastery in this.

figured as much, considering the resemblances to er... i forgot the specific style and era, but it greatly reminds me of a few paintings of Spaniards in their glitzy armor and such. i really dig the resemblances to those pieces, especially the way the paint on the armor is blended. very, very pretty! if i had the spare cash i'd probably throw my own guy at it, but oh well.

I'd like to see WiP sketches of the rest of the canvas please. I've seen artists before who purchase a pre-painted Canvas from China(in this case, of a knight. Can't even tell if its furry or not), and then simply fill in the head and sell it as their own original work. I'd like proof that you actually painted this 100% and not just the head.

I think you misunderstood my meaning.
I can't find any proof in these pictures that you have worked on the body/background of the images. I only see the heads as having been worked on/edited while the bodies and backgrounds are all finished and ready before you take the images. Hense, I do not know whether you painted those bodies/backgrounds, or if someone(or something?) else did.

TL;DR: I don't want to pay for paintings where all you painted was the head and the rest was made in China or something, and trying to get proof that you are indeed the person who painted it in its entirety.

To be exact: If I can get proof of this, I'd like to commission a 'royalty' portrait of my main fursona from you in the future, when you are open that is, but until I can ascertain that you truly are the only one to paint this, I can't in good faith do so.

Still, I find no proof that you yourself painted the rest of this canvas. As a result I cannot in good faith pay money for something I cannot trust to be genuine.
It's not personal, it's business. I'm not trying to insult you, I'm trying to ensure I get what I pay for.

Instead of taking this as such, take it as experience; take a picture of the sketch for the future, and next time you do one, and you have images to provide that shows you completed every aspect displayed on the canvas in question yourself, then I'd be more than happy to hire you for commissions.

On the other hand, if you choose to be overly defensive about it, then you're welcome to insult me, call me names, block me, and tell everyone who'll listen how much of a rude, distrusting, and obnoxious person I am. I'm not stopping you from being the very thing you threaten to condemn me for being. After all, hypocrisy is in the eye of the beholder, is it not?

Take it as it was meant to, or take it out of context and react accordingly, it's your choice. Regardless of your choice, I'd be happy to work with you in the future when aforementioned proof is provided. Have a good rest of your day.

However, isn't it a bit presumptuous...rude even, to believe that people should automatically know these things prior to interacting with the artist or yourself? Last time I checked, blind trust in every person trying to sell a product on the internet is a sure fire way to get yourself neck-deep in shit. Sorry for jumping in like that and causing more trouble. ^^;

I usually don't get involved in this sort of thing, but you've done two fantastic commissions for me and that person's completely unfounded accusation really pissed me off. The painting is so obviously your work and style, and even after you provided proof, that person just doubled down and got worse. I'm glad they blocked everyone and retreated when called out on such bullshit.

There's not really a strong case to be made here. These paintings align with the artists' technique, style and anatomy featured in previous pieces. you can find plenty of examples of varying degrees of completion and subject matter in their gallery - lead pencil to gouache, pet portaits etc. They also showed you a picture where the paint of the armor and background was still wet.

If you claim that you've "seen artists that did this", maybe you should prove that these pre-made canvases exist to the artist to begin with instead of putting it on them to go out of their way to prove to you that they didn't use one? Or even better, maybe find one that looks just like the busts up here - then you'd definitely have a reason to ask for proof. as it is now, not really.

I'm not trying to make a case of anything. I'm not accusing the artist of anything. All I was doing was trying to confirm that what I would be paying for would be legitimate. I've never worked with this artist before, so I wouldn't know.

Apologies. Had I known my innocent request would be met with such....unjustified ferocity, I would have asked in notes instead. I have blocked them all, and will continue to do so without reading any future comments, should other self-righteous, presumptuous idiots decide to join a fray that seems to be hellbent on punishing someone who never deserved to be punished.

Forgive any offense I may have made, but to tell you the truth, the only ones guilty of causing any discord here, are the unhinged dramaqueens you see above, who sorely overreacted in grand fashion, for no reason whatsoever.

And this would be normal market relations. When the customer does not like something, he does not work with the artist. OK.

I blame the language barrier, cause I already said on multiple occasions that I'll be happy to work with you when I have adequate proof of you being the person who did it. And I suppose as long as they're white knights, you'll welcome drama on your submissions, even from several different people, as long as it's coming to your rescue, even if you honestly have no true clue as to why you feel the need to be protected in the first place(which, in this case, you did not).
