Took a picture of all our synthesizers, including the ones I build or am building.
From left to right, top to bottom:
- SQK-01 prototype: an hybrid digital/analog FM and Substractive synth I build. Has very gnarly/beefy sounds with a nice filter and distortion;
- Analog drum computer: something I have just started building. It'll have some sweet analog drum sounds not unlike the TR808 and MonoTribe. But with a more nasty touch;
- Dradique: digital "host" synth I build: it can hold various
synthesizers in memory allowing to switch between them or to combine them, Currently it runs an Roland SH-101, 4 operator FM synth and an Solina String Ensemble based stringsynth;
- Yamaha PSS-680: lovely and very expansive 2-operator FM synth and workstation. I use this one quite a lot lately;
- Yamaha PSS-570: YM3812-powered 2-operator FM synth, not as advanced as the 680 but still very lovely. Maybe I'll add a nice filter to this one;
- Yamaha PS-3: with an unfinished breakout box I made for it. This will expose various controls such as filter cutoff and resonance, envelope settings and further soundshaping. I also modded the rhythm switches so rhythms can be combined into 11 new ones. Has a very sweet, vintage analog sound due to the very high quality VCF and VCA chips used.
