awesome. it's great, plain and simple. the expression, the body language, the light effects, the sense of depth, the fairy lights floating around... magical and full of promise!
Netherfaris awoke with bitter water in his nose. Startled, he jumped to his feet, bumping knees and elbows against the weathered wood around him. Staring out to the sea and the dark sky above he barely realized he was standing at the end of a little boat, which was about to topple over. Still clumsy he reached around for support and caught a paddle. The blue-furred jackal stared at it, then at the tattered remains of a pants that once was white linen, and slowly he remembered the previous night. The storm that rocked the ship, ripped sails apart, broke masts, and the wave that finally sent him over the railing. The ship might have sunken by now, or not; Netherfaris' belongings, or rather what was left, were on board in that smelly little cabin. Which meant he had no funds left whatsoever... what a well-thought out journey this has been.
The boat moved, and snapped him out of his musings. He also realized the shadows around him, cast by a low evening sun - which also meant he had been asleep at least a whole day - and the structures below the water's surface. It was then when he turned around, still shaky, but carefully not to sink that little nutshell that saved his life, and saw tall rocks. and the river the current tide pushed him towards. Over there was a spot that looked like a good spot to crawl onto the rocks, and to freedom.
And a new start.
Netherfaris grabbed the lone paddle and started to dig into the water. "Thou shall not get rid of me so easily", he mumbled with a raspy voice, and grinned.
