They are indeed quite interesting. Both times I photographed them last year, they looked different, so there must be something interesting going on.
I have seen photos and video of arctic foxes that do this up in the same region where arctic wolves are from, so it might be something related to that, I think.
Cool that you get to work with them though. Some I know would call that a dream job. :)
