Time dragged on like someone's feet when first waking up. Seconds introduced themselves thoroughly before being on their marry way. A sky blue bird sat in the audience of the dim club, waiting for his moment in the spotlight. His royal blue eyes were fixated on the current performer. She seemed decent, but the lack of confidence was killing the stubby looking avian. Every time she'd hit the course, her voice would get softer, making the timid lady less exciting at what is usually the peak of the track. Taylor closed his eyes and let out a deep exhale. That could be him in a few minutes. He kept his lids sealed tight for the rest of the song.
Instruments strung out as the climax of the song ended, leaving the room empty for a brief second before forced applause rang through the room. She exited the stage looking proud yet anxious at the same time. Without warning, the screen in front of the stage lit up with a name on it. Taylor's heart skipped a beat and adrenaline ran through his body as he saw it display, blinking in quick white text. The avian stood up slowly, feeling rather heated in the cool room. Everyone in the room all glanced at mysterious man as he made his way to the stage, none of them recognized him as a regular.
As he entered the stage, the spotlight blinded him. The room's temperature was much more intense up there too. He felt like sweating bullets, maybe he should have wore something lighter. Each step he took on the wooden stage echoed out in the room as the crowd sat, waiting patiently. As Taylor found the microphone and stood in front it, he blinked, looking far off into the deep ocean of black. He couldn't see a damn thing beyond the stage with a blinding light hitting down own his eyes. This is usually the part where people introduce themselves and the song they are about to sing, but the bird was just standing there, waiting for the silence to be broken. Piano faded in, bouncing off the walls of the dank area, the song opening up as the avian kept his nervousness on the inside.
I heard there was a secret chord, that David played and it pleased the Lord, but you don't really care for music do yooouuu?
His vocal chords were crisp and soothing, catching the entire room off guard with how much emotion he displayed after looking like a robot.
A short story on Taylor's origin of being a singer. Also the first time in many moons that I have drawn. I actually like how this one looks. Chirp, for your soul
