Well, Puck is probably more importantly known as a prankster throughout the entire series and a servant of Oberon and Titania (their court jester actually).
Cannot really remember his role in Gargoyles, but I seem to recall it as being a revealing surprise when it turned out Xantos' (sp?) butler was in actuality the Puck character that was going around causing trouble for the Gargoyles for some time before that.
Turns out Xantos was dating Titania's daughter or some such silly thing. It could be argued that Puck actually helped to reform Xantos somewhat. Puck went from butler to care taker of Xantos' kid later on in the series. As the mother had no magical power so to speak, I don't think Titania really cared much for Xantos, so that left, Puck, the only person with any magical ability near by to help raise the boy into a fine adult.
In mythology Puck is known both as Puck and Robin Goodfellow. The term "touched" originates from him, as if you go wandering out in night, and Puck touches you, you are doomed to insanity for all eternity.
Where as Titania and Oberon did not have names in their folklore until Shakespeare gave them the name "Titania" and "Oberon", the name Puck, can actually be traced to having existed before the culture that carried it in its mythos. There is even an area in Ireland (I think?) that has been named after Puck that is prolly one of the first pieces of land that was named in the area.
Also, faved.
