Rusk had never seen the Claw of the Forged in person and when he did he was… surprised. He’d never thought about what she’d look like, but there she was. The Claw was a large female: broad, tall, and heavily muscled. Even slouched as she was he felt dwarfed. And her eyes.… Her eyes glowed with an inner power. She breathed in, and power breathed out. Rusk had never met one of the old magi before either.
“So,” he drawled, hiding all of his thoughts behind his characteristic mask of disinterest. He prowled the perimeter of the command tent, pretending to scrutinize the contents rather than the Claw. "What interest does the Claw have in some old soothsayer?“
By all accounts the Claw– Chela was her name– was a kind leader. Some even thought her a bleeding heart. Rusk had a hard time believing that was entirely true since well.… She had become the Claw, the wielder of the Forged Alliance’s Hammer after all.
Chela leaned forward, her various trinkets chiming musically and a flicker of blue flame tickling the air around her. Her tail curled at her side, long and thick and heavy. "Ruby Eyes,” she said not bothering to hide her smile, “is my mother.”
Oh, Rusk thought. There’s the catch.
Chela as a character has gone through several iterations, and this is the Original Character version from one of my little headworlds. <3 My fluffy blue-white tiger girl.
